We believe it’s time to change the name because it is hurtful, wrong, and counterproductive to the role sports play in our society, which is one of unification and celebration. As life-long fans, we don’t want our team to demean or be the source of unnecessary pain and discomfort for our fellow citizens.
The Municipals movement is about a new era in Cleveland baseball in which our team name properly represents the people of Cleveland and our united civic spirit.
